John Reid When He Was Secretary of State For Health At Weymouth Speedway Where He Unexpectedly Met Ian Perkin Face To Face

LATEST NEWS & UPDATES

Dame Janet Smith when commenting on the wider significance of "whistleblowing" in her report on the Shipman case said that barriers to whistleblowers included, " the fear of being seen a troublemaker or "maverick", the fear of recriminations and a feeling of impotence grounded in the belief that, even if the report is made, nothing will be done about it". I would ask readers of this website to bear this important comment in mind when considering exactly what happened to me.

Howard Fredrics finds himself out of a job at Kingston University and finds himself dealing with a similar situation to myself.  The common factor Colin Watts  the former Director of Human Resources at St George's Healthcare NHS Trust.  Howard has found out that the judgement in my case threatens the employment of all employees in the United Kingdom and has started a petition on the Number 10 website to try and change employment law so that employees cannot be dismissed for "Some Other Substantial Reason".  If you wish to see a change in the employment you can sign the petiton by CLICKING HERE

In May 2007 Henry Bellingham MP asks the Secretary of State for Health about my case and Minister of Health Andy Burnham gives an totally unsatisfactory reply.  To read the question and answer and vote on whether you think the Minister gave a satisfactory reply CLICK HERE

Speaking Engagements.  As a result of my case I have been asked by a number of organisations to speak publicly about my experiences.  Last October I spoke at the Annual Conference Of the Institute of Revenues Rating & Valuation on the subject of Integrity in the Public Sector.  This October I am speaking at the Freedom To Care Annual Conference where the theme of my talk will be how employers increasingly accuse whistleblowers of not being  "team players" and how difficult it is to defend against such an accusation when dealing with large organisations and the complexity and uncertainty of the law as it concerns whistle blowing. This Website Is One Individuals Attempt To At Last Tell The Truth About The "Real NHS" And The "Silent Pressure" That Exists Within The Service Which Prevents People From Revealing The Facts About Today's NHS.

My Name Is Ian Perkin And I Told The Truth About The Fiddling Of Cancelled Operations At St George's Hospital In October 2001 And About The Dire Financial Situation Of That Same Hospital Trust To The External Auditors PricewaterhouseCoopers In July 2002.  As A Result, On The 29th July 2002, I Was Asked By The Chief Executive To Resign From My Post As St George's Finance Director.   When I Refused To Resign, I Was Subjected To An Internal Disciplinary Process, Which Decided That I Was To Be Dismissed After Thirty-Three Years Of Continuous Service In The Public Services Despite The Fact That In All That Time There Had Never Been A Previous Complaint About Me.  I Was Dismissed On The Grounds That I Had An Unreasonable Management Style And Told Quite Against The Rules Of The NHS, That I Was To Be Refused Any Right Of Appeal Against The Decision To Dismiss Me.  Despite appeals to Government Ministers and the Chief Executive of the NHS Sir Nigel Crisp for assistance in fighting my case, I found that quite contrary to their public statements the NHS offers no assistance at all to "whistleblowers" and in fact you are completely on your own, with in my experience every NHS agency that you appeal to, telling you that they cannot become involved.

This Website Is Part Of My Fight Back Against The Unreasonable Way The NHS Behaves Towards It's Employees Who Tell The Truth.  It Is Not A Site Full Of Unsubstantiated Allegations But Is A Site If You Choose To View It That Will Take You To Actual Documents, Media Reports and Television Interviews That Will Demonstrate How Several High Ranking NHS Officials Related Not Only To My Case But Also To Other Instances Of NHS Activity That Would Not Normally See The Light Of Day.  I don't Believe Anyone Else Has Ever Lifted The Lid On The Culture Of Secrecy And Silent Pressure That Exists Within The NHS In The Way That This Website Does, Even Taking You To Admissions That Half The NHS Hospitals In The United Kingdom Do Not Comply With Vital Health & Safety and Fire regulations and explaining why the Government's current plans for financing Foundation Hospitals will not work.  You Can Access Information On High Ranking NHS Officials From Sir Nigel Crisp Downwards And Look At The Documents That Tell You About Events That Have Taken Place And On Which You Can Make Up Your Own Mind As To Whether The NHS Is Managed In A Way That You Believe Accords With The Ethical And Moral Standards One Would Expect From The Country's Largest Public Institution.  I Do Not Make Allegations About Anyone I Am Simply Reporting The Facts Because I Believe That Our Public Institutions Should Be Accountable And Open.

There Is Also A Discussion Group On The Site So If You Wish To Become Part Of The Debate About An Honest And Open NHS That The Government Publicly Espouses Please Join The Group And Post Your Comments, Or If You Prefer E-Mail Me In Confidence At ianperkin@blueyonder.co.uk
